Ros goes mad in India?

Ros goes mad in India?

Actually, I was in India in 2007 and made 4 small etchings to celebrate my visit, 2 of which can be seen behind me here adorning the walls of L’Espace Point de Vue in Lauzerte. L’Espace was the scene of some chaos last night when our Private View (or “Vernissage”) turned into a bit of a bun fight when over 100 people tried to elbow their way to the wine and nibbles at the same time. Chris is even now suffering from the trauma of talking about his work and its “inspiration” for 2 hours non-stop, mostly in french. I actually sold something, which was great, and to a french couple who have just moved into the village. Mind you, we both noticed differences in french and english responses to our work – the french always want to discuss our “intellectual motivation” at great length, whereas the english are far more practical and want to focus on process! The show is on now until 5 June, which will give us both time to recover before the next one…..

About rosalind marchant

I am an artist - I am a printmaker and I make abstract etchings. I live in a small village in south west France that is surrounded by miles of varied and colourful landscape ..... which is fortunate because my prints are inspired by the colours and patterns in that landscape.

  1. Jan says:

Glad that there were sales involved – hopefully more to come……….keep up the good work

  2. I am a buyer of Ros’s work and an enthusiast for both her intellectual motivation and the laborious processes which lead to such wonderfully emotive prints

  3. Vickie says:

I also have masses of Ros’ prints – all of them are truly wonderful – in fact I have a whole wall now dedicated to them. They look especially fabulous when grouped together.

Ros, have you got a Facebook page for your artwork so that I can “like” it and thereby let all my fb friends see your work?

    • No, my work does not have its own FB page… sorry. It will never be as famous as Pippa’s Bum so I have never thought it worth it….

How many pieces of my work do you actually have? Did you pay for any of them (hoho). RX

      • Vickie says:

I have 7 prints in my lounge room at the moment, and paid very, very handsomely to have them all beautifully framed.

  4. Well that’s all good then. I will inspect when we come to Sydney in September!
