Purple Shadow 2

Purple Shadow 2

Still in Coleridge country, this is the second of my offerings for the Somerset Printmakers show at the Coleridge Museum in West Somerset (May 2014). I have to say, it was not easy! Usually I work direct in the landscape, sketching “en plein air” and going back to the studio to develop my prints. This time it was words that had to inspire me and I fought with it for some weeks before going back to my original inspiration…. a line in “The Lime Tree…” which had caught my attention the very first time I read it. So, here they are… enjoy! And enjoy the show if you manage to get to it…..

About rosalind marchant

I am an artist - I am a printmaker and I make abstract etchings. I live in a small village in south west France that is surrounded by miles of varied and colourful landscape ..... which is fortunate because my prints are inspired by the colours and patterns in that landscape.
